Season in Review

So, at first I was going to write this lengthy, you might call it legendary, post that detailed every tournament and event that happened to the team over the course of the year. But we were there, and if you really wanted to relive it, you can go back and look at prior posts.

So here’s what I came up with. Deal with it.

We were good. Real good. We didn’t get a lot of love from the media community, but we knew they were just a bunch of jokers anyway. We went into every tournament knowing we were going to make a statement. It’s true we had our downfalls, North Texas, but we had our share of sweet victories too, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Stanford.

The story of our season didn’t follow any conventional plot lines. We didn’t start out hating each other and then magically come together at just the right moment. We didn’t depend on one stud to carry the team all the way to the big game. And a girl didn’t play for our team.

We came into this season with the intention of working hard and having fun. Winning is more fun than losing, and we won more often than we lost. So, How can I describe this season? This team? Before we even started, we wanted to come up with a new team name that described our program. We couldn’t do that, and we’re smart, good-looking people. That means just one thing: This season and this team are indescribable.

Lastly, I’d like to thank everyone who won’t be back. Everyone on the team knows who you are and what you did for us this year. We can’t ever get you back, and that saddens us. But your stories will be told, and they will inspire us to achieve the greatness that you showed us. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
