The Blog’s Endorsement

Selecting specific candidates would be an abuse of my position as author of this blog. Plus, the fact that I’m running for captain severely undercuts any credibility that I have. However, I care about the future of this program, so I have some advice before you cast your vote.

Remember all the high pressure situations we’ve been in over the past seasons. Sometimes the situation was desperate. Sometimes we just needed to refocus. In each one of those instances, we looked to our captains for the right words and the right actions to lead us. Running practices, teaching rookies, correcting mistakes are all well within the realm of being a veteran on the team. All of us count on each other for this type of leadership. When selecting a captain, you’re selecting the teammate you want the rest of the team to listen too when everyone else is quiet. You are selecting the teammate that not only digs deep to pull himself out of a tight spot, but digs deep enough to pull the entire team out of a tight spot.

Who will you look to for that extra motivation and wisdom that will push the team to victory?

In other words...
Who will be able to make catch phrases on the spot that make us want to repeat them all the time...like Patrick J. Stephens.
