Bracket Wrap-up and Championship Preview

Once again, I’ll leave the detailed recaps to authors who actually saw the games, but I’ll post our results. We rolled Michigan 15-11. That score feels satisfying even when I’m sitting 1,000 miles away. We gave Colorado a game, but ended up falling short by three points. We end up tying for 5th place. A season recap will be coming soon, but seeing as this is the eve of the most climatic day in college ultimate, I feel it necessary to comment on the championship game.

A lot of surprises happened, but the one and two seeds remained perfect. Wisconsin has a chance to win back to back titles and their third championship in this decade. Florida won it all in 2006, and I’m sure Gibson…er…I mean the team wants to retake the throne. So, how do these heavyweights match up?

Both teams throw hucks, a lot. Is their receiver open? Do they care? Florida will rely on their height to pull any disc that looks fifty-fifty. Wisconsin has the edge on speed, and I feel the thin air will work to their advantage as the disc will sail more often than float. Florida will most likely counter this advantage by playing a zone on defense, but if their offense turns the disc over, it’s game over. My pick, Wisconsin goes on a defensive run and wins it all, again.
